It doesn’t matter where you are, what you are doing, writing today's blog is a little bittersweet for me. Almost to the hour, as I write this, 10 years ago, I was rowing a small 23-foot ocean rowing boat into English Harbour in Antigua having been at sea for 72 days, 8 hours, 22mins and 8 seconds. I had achieved a dream of mine, to Row across the Atlantic Ocean. Even a decade later, everything I do is in two-hour shifts, cutting the grass, driving the car, looking after the kids. The memories are endless and the experiences timeless. Why am I telling you this? Well, if you come to one of our fitness getaways, and even better, bring a group, you will find out so much more about pushing limits but also training for different environments. All I am trying to figure out, is where has the last decade gone?
It has been an incredible few weeks here at the retreat. The rains have still been falling, the place is so green and vibrant, its almost hard to keep it all under control. The animals are thriving and it seems the guests are coming back. We have been full these past 2 weekends, are full this coming weekend, the first week of April and the Easter long weekend. Long may it continue. But, the big news is the pool. It is looking fantastic, growing in size, maturing and getting to the final stages of completion. If the weather is kind to us, it should be finished at the end of the week. What does that mean? There is no better time to book, whether for the coming week or some time into the future. Don’t forget, if you book now, for a future date, you will still be honoured with today's prices of $125 per person, per night, all in. Our prices will go up just after Easter, so don’t delay!
Having built the retreat, the main building, etc, it is amazing how it grows, shrinks, grows again and then settles into its environment during the building phase, the pool has been no different. As the fence goes in, the tiles go down, the true size is emerging, it’s going to be special. Watching a movie next to the fire pit whilst sitting in the spa, what more could you want!
